Relief Sculpture Gallery
I originally got into relief sculpture as part of a freelance job I started in my last year or so of college. A lot of my initial excitement came from the freedom to problem solve a difficult and unique challenge as well as from my simultaneous introduction to sculpting itself. My client has primarily requested a series of portraits of famous musical composers but I've done the occasional side project along the way. My client then has these portraits 3D printed before using the prints to cast glass versions.
While I've slowed down on the portraits while I figure out where to take myself next, I'm much more confident in the process than I was when I began. After numerous trials and a handful of embarrassing failures I've managed to find techniques that work for me. I've tried my best to describe many of these things in my relief notes section. Below is a quick gallery of my relief pieces from various projects.
