Human Anatomy

Zbrush, Photoshop, Maya, Sketchbook Pro, Marmoset Toolbag

Anatomy was once an unreachable subject for me. It was an complex collection of medical terminology with layers upon layers of interrelated pieces that I simply couldn’t keep track of. As a visual learner, it wasn’t until I discovered écorchés that I fell in love with it all and found my way through.

ZBrush itself proved to be the first catalyst, giving me the ability to quickly put my creative eye to use. Scott Eaton’s courses were a second, inspiring me with effortless écorchés drawn atop real references. Gesture sketches gave me a way to quickly learn the forms and proportions that our eyes see long before my drawing skills were able to capture them with grace.

These sculpts, models, sketches, and studies are some of the many ways I’ve used my exploration of anatomy in my work.
